Power plants (hydro, thermal, geothermal)
Power plants combine high pressure with high temperature. Steam, feedwater and penstock lines need weld neck flanges, high-class elbows and tees, and a correctly selected pressure class.
The pressure a flange can carry falls as temperature rises: a PN 16 flange rated 16 bar at room temperature carries less at high temperature. Pressure class must therefore be chosen by operating temperature and material group.
Hydropower penstocks and turbine inlets use large, heavy-wall flanges; thermal and geothermal plants use weld neck flanges in pressure-vessel steels such as P250GH and A105.
What we supply
- Weld neck flanges PN 40 – PN 400 / Class 300 – 2500
- Forged fittings 3000 – 6000 LB (ASME B16.11)
- Long-radius elbows, tees and reducers (ASME B16.9)
- Large custom-size flanges
- Spectacle blinds for maintenance and isolation
Points to check
- Select the pressure class by temperature.
- Ask for an EN 10204 3.1 material certificate.
- Match the pipe wall thickness with the flange hub bore.
